Spring is Right Around the Corner By: Brad Bachand, PGA
Hi folks, believe it or not spring is right around the corner. We are very busy here planning and making improvements for the 2010 season. We are working on several enhancements to our website to serve you better. Soon you will be able to view video golf tips, product reviews, and even your personal golf lesson. Please feel free to send and/or share your lesson, golf tips, or product reviews with your friends!
We also have new and improved artificial mats on the way to our facility. The new mats are more realistic than anything currently available. The mats have increased shock absorption technology and will allow you to have more immediate feedback on miss hits.
Additionally, we are very excited to announce a new junior golf program called, the Man O' War Junior Golf Academy. Over the past 17 years we are proud of the accomplishments our junior golf program has made, however, our new Junior Golf Academy will far exceed anything we have ever done and bring our program up to a world class level. Whether you just want your child introduced to the game for enjoyment for a lifetime, or you want your child to be a PGA Tour player, we will help you and your child achieve your goals. The new program will start the first week of April. Please stay tuned for more details that we will be sending in a separate email very soon. If you have any questions please give me a call or e-mail.

Practice with a Purpose By: Larry Ward, PGA
The single most important element of improving your golf game is planning. If you follow a well planned practice and play routine you will improve your game. Time spent and hard work may help some, however, it's not the only way. Following a streamlined practice plan set up by your Man O' War Golf teaching professional will ensure your success. I will share a simple ratio I use with most of my players. I call it the rule of 1/3. If you are practicing full swing, break your practice into three separate sessions. The first third of practice is turning your brain on and warming up. The second third is spent performing drills. The final third should be spent simulating a round of golf. Beating balls with no plan will certainly be less productive than having a well thought out and well planned practice session.

New Age of Player Development By: Corey Maggard
Back in the early 90's instructors believed that there were three components to address for building the ultimate golfer: instruction, mental, and equipment. However, times have changed and player development has grown additional areas, none more important than physical conditioning.
This does not translate to training ourselves to carry our bag 36 holes without fatigue. This conditioning is designed to remove our body's limitations that it puts on our golf swing, for our swing can only be as good as our body will let it be.
Man O' War Golf opened a new fitness center in late fall, and it serves as home to our Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) experts. An evaluation in tandem with a commitment on your part is the first step to developing a more consistent, faster, and more powerful golf swing.
